Born in Kagoshima, Japan and raised in Korea, Yoshi has been immersed in the world of art for as long as he can remember. From sketching in elementary school to studying sculpture at a fine arts university, his creative foundation was laid early and built with intention. In January 2011, he began his tattoo journey—now over 15 years deep—and has since evolved into a distinct voice in the tattoo world.Yoshi’s early work drew from traditional Japanese and Old School tattoo styles, but his lifelong love for manga and pen illustration gradually steered him toward a style that felt more personal. Influenced by medieval and classical art, particularly copperplate engravings, Yoshi became captivated by the power of contrast, line pressure, and cross-hatching techniques. These elements form the basis of his signature "STAR EYE" style—a method defined by radiating lines and dynamic control of pressure to create depth, shadow, and movement. His work is instantly recognizable: emotionally resonant, technically precise, and visually original. Through delicate yet bold fine-line execution, Yoshi engraves not just imagery but memory—often in the form of a singular, evocative eye that holds meaning for the wearer. His tattoos serve as lasting tributes to people and moments that deserve to be remembered, never forgotten.
